For fans of Blizzard games, BlizzCon is an annual event that gamers won’t want to miss. The event will provide fans with access to developer panels where they can ask all kinds of questions, learn more about Blizzard’s upcoming games, or changes they will be making to existing ones, and more often than not gamers are also treated to new announcements.
This also explains why BlizzCon tickets typically sell out pretty fast, despite them being rather pricey. Now if you can’t afford BlizzCon 2015 tickets or if you can’t make it to the Anaheim Convention Center in California, you’re in luck. According to a post on Major Nelson’s blog, he has revealed that Blizzard will be livestreaming the Opening Ceremony on the Xbox One.
This is a first for Blizzard and Microsoft. Typically to livestream BlizzCon events and panels, one would need to purchase a Virtual Ticket. It is unclear if this announcement means that the livestream will be only available for Virtual Ticket holders on the Xbox One, or if it will be open to all Xbox One owners.
However as Major Nelson has stated, more details are expected to follow shortly, so hopefully we will be able to clarify this soon. In the meantime BlizzCon 2015 will be taking place from the 6-7th of November. If you’d like to get your virtual ticket, you can still do so for a price of $39.99 in which you will also gain some in-game items as a perk.
