BlackBerry is certainly enjoying all the hype that its first Android powered smartphone has created, many are interested to see what the Canadian’s company’s take on an Android smartphone will be like, while some are intrigued by the choice of a slider form factor that’s no longer common in the smartphone market today. While it still hasn’t confirmed when this smartphone will be officially launched, today the pre-registration page for BlackBerry Priv has gone live.
The company hasn’t confirmed anything about the specifications so far, BlackBerry Priv is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM and possibly a 21 megapixel rear camera. It also has a slide-out full QWERTY physical keyboard that also doubles as a touchpad, this technology was first introduced with the BlackBerry Passport last year.
Pre-registration isn’t the same as pre-order, with the former you’re only able to submit your email address so that the company can reach out directly to you when there’s news about the upcoming device. Pre-order is when you can actually pay to reserve a unit that will most likely be delievered to you on launch day.
This will aid BlackBerry in seeing the level of consumer interest in its first Android smartphone, while those who are waiting for it can count on receiving word from the company itself when it’s time to completely lift the veil off of the BlackBerry Priv.
