Now we’re sure some of you guys might be curious about the phone’s price. After all if the specs are the real deal, we are looking at a high-end device here, so can we expect a high-end price as well? According to Chinese leakster Leaksfly, he claims (via GSMArena) that the BlackBerry Priv will cost RMB3,999, which when converted is roughly equivalent to $630.
With a price tag of $630, the phone is definitely not in the affordable price range, but it does line up with what BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen said in the Code/Mobile conference last week. According to Chen, “We’ll make the phone financially affordable to get, whether that’s by installments or something else.”
According to what we know of the handset so far, it is said to feature a 5.4-inch QHD display and under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset can be found with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, an 18MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, with Android 5.1 Lollipop calling the shots. Does that sound like a phone worth $630?
