This loyalty program will apply to Android Pay and the first company that will be participating in it will be Coke. This will happen when users use their phones to purchase a Coke from an NFC-enabled vending machine, in which they will be able to get reward points. It is unclear as to what these reward points offer, but presumably it will allow users to purchase more drinks at either discounted prices, or be able to redeem a free drink when they have collected enough points.
Safe to say that the deal with Coca-Cola is the start of something new. Obviously we will see Google start teaming up with other retailers where loyalty/reward points can be gained by using Android Pay at the outlets. No doubt this is a way for Google to encourage the use of Android Pay, but whether or not it will be successful is a different story. In the meantime what do you guys make of this loyalty program?
