It is unlikely that Apple will hold a special event just for the iMacs, so chances are its announcement will come in the form of a press release and will most likely pop up on Apple’s online store. Unfortunately the specs and features of the iMac remain unknown at this point, but last we heard it was for the 21.5-inch models.
Those who are hoping for a 4K 27-inch iMac will probably be out of luck. Instead you guys will have to get the 5K iMac if you’re after a Retina display. The specific release date is said to be for the 13th of October, and Apple is planning to release more units come November so if you can’t find stock in October, fret not as the next month should bring in more supply.
The report goes on to add that the new iMacs will resemble the regular iMacs, except that its display will be of the 4K resolution. We can expect that it will feature a faster GPU to support the updated resolution, and will most likely be priced higher than its non-4K counterpart. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us next week for the details.
