The Xbox One community has been asking Microsoft to increase the number of persons allowed to take part in a party chat, previously only eight people could join in, the company has listened to the feedback from the community and confirmed that Xbox One now features 12-person party chat. Everyone gets access to 12-person party chat on Xbox One and Xbox App on Windows 10 starting today.
Microsoft’s Larry Hryb, better known as Major Nelson, said that the company had received more than 2,200 votes on Xbox Feedback for this feature and that’s why they have decided to expand party chat to include 12 people.
If you have an Xbox One don’t keep waiting for a visible update, Microsoft cautions that Xbox One users won’t see a visible update because the change to enable 12-person party chat has been made server side, this means that the feature will just work for users like it has always been there.
On the other hand the company is also rolling out some new features to Xbox One preview members who will get to test it before the features are released to the public. The new features include even more party chat communication options, an improved Game DVR experience, new animated avatars, an updated menu for quick access to common actions and the ability to access new settings in the Guide.
