Hailing from Britain, Vertu used to be a subsidiary of Nokia, and it was hinted that the wearable tech market might be their next target at the New Signature Touch’s launch, which so happens to be a $10,000 device. Vertu CEO Max Pogliani mentioned concerning the wearable tech space, “That is an interesting space for me. I think it is getting to a level of maturity which is worth having a look having a look for us.”
Of course, it remains to be seen whether Vertu will put feet to their aspirations at this point in time, but it would be interesting to see just how far they can go in the realm of wearable tech. After all, at least they have a concierge service for their handset, which means there is this human-to-human contact rather than you talking to Siri, but for a smartwatch? Only time will tell.
