It is always nice to see how mobile carriers remain on top of things by offering the latest updates to recently introduced handsets, making sure that whatever minor kinks there are within are worked out, not to mention patching up bugs or other kinds of security loopholes along the way. Having said that, Verizon has a pleasant surprise for those who happen to own some of Samsung’s newest flagship smartphones, where among them include the Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, as well as S6 edge+, will be on the receiving end of a spanking new update.
Not much details are available concerning the exact changes and modifications that the updates come with, other than the passing mention of Android security patches, but it does come in a timely manner. Meaning, not too long after Samsung issued a promise that there will be regular (monthly if possible) security updates for its devices, especially after what happened with the Stagefright issue.
You should be able to see this update hit your device soon – if not already, but if you cannot wait and would like to perform the update manually, you can always do a check yourself by heading to Settings > About device > Software update on your handset. [Press Release]
