So what’s new about the refreshed Chromebook 2? For starters Toshiba has throw in a backlit keyboard. For those who type at night and in the dark, this feature might come in handy. The company has also added a set of Skullcandy-tuned speakers, a 13.3-inch Full HD display, a pair of microphones, and according to the company, a battery life about 8.5 hours.
Under the hood, users can also expect a 5th-gen Intel i3 processor. These are pretty decent specs and if you are planning on using it for basic web surfing needs or maybe just for school work, the Chromebook 2 should be more than sufficient to get you by. In terms of pricing, like we said it is pretty affordable.
If speed/power isn’t really a concern, the Intel Celeron model will retail for $329.99. However if you’d like a bit of power, there is also an Intel Core i3 model that will retail for $429.99. The new Toshiba Chromebook 2 is expected to be released next month and will be available via Toshiba’s website.
