Given the success of the first The Last of Us game, we’re sure that Sony and the folks at Naughty Dog would love to create a sequel. However when such a sequel would be announced remains to be seen, but for gamers hoping that there will be a sequel, you might be in luck as the developers have accidentally confirmed it.
Speaking the livestream for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection held by a group of Naughty Dog developers, the topic of The Last of Us came up. The topic was about facial animation and according to the game’s writer Josh Scherr, “All the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led up by Eric, here, and [on] the first The Last of Us. Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us?”
Now according to those who watched the livestream, Scherr seemed genuinely flustered, seemingly suggesting that his slip-up was for real. While some have speculated that maybe, just maybe, Scherr was talking about the original game and not the expansion that followed, it would seem unlikely he would get that flustered, right?
As pointed out by many, this isn’t the first time we have heard of the possibility of The Last of Us 2. The main question is when will the game launch? Given that the studio is working on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, it would seem that it might be a while before we hear or see anything related to the sequel, but at the very least it sounds like it’s the real deal.
