Just like the rumors predicted, the new Apple TV appears to be focused a fair bit on gaming. While we doubt it will take over the gaming world anytime soon, it does offer up some pretty interesting gaming opportunities for the casual gamer. Now if the idea of playing on your Apple TV using the new Apple TV remote doesn’t particularly appeal to you, you’re in luck.
Gaming accessory maker SteelSeries has recently announced the SteelSeries Nimbus. This is an MFi gaming controller that has been designed for the Apple TV in mind. It will come with certain features that mimics that of the Apple remote, such as the large Menu button which presumably functions the same on the remote.
It also comes with the ability to charge via Lightning cable, so if you’re not charging your iOS device, then you can charge your controller too. However other than that, it is your standard gaming controller with dual analog sticks, four shoulder buttons, a directional pad, and four regular buttons that you can play with.
While it has been designed with the Apple TV in mind, given its MFi certification, it will play nicely with other iOS devices too. No word on pricing or availability just yet, but if you’re interested you can check out its product page for the details.
