Assuming all of this is true, this means that the Xperia Z5 family will play host to five different phones, and that’s assuming that Sony has no additional handsets planned! So what is the Xperia Z5 Ultra? Basically it’s a souped up version of the Xperia Z5 Premium. It will of course retain the Xperia Z5 Premium’s 4K display.
However it is also rumored to feature a whopping 6.44-inch display as well. If you’re wondering why that size sounds so familiar, it is because back in 2013, Sony launched the Xperia Z Ultra with the same 6.44-inch display. The Xperia Z5 Ultra is also rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 820 so a 2016 release makes sense.
It is also said to come with a 23MP rear-facing camera and a sizeable 4,000mAh battery to boot. Given its rumored March launch, it almost sounds as if the Xperia Z5 Ultra could be planned as Sony’s 2016 flagship despite it featuring the Xperia Z5 moniker, but take it with a grain of salt for now.
