We find this a little odd since the trio of devices announced should more or less appeal to a wide spectrum of customers, ranging from those who want a more compact phone, a more affordable phone, or some who just want to splurge on a flagship handset. What Sony might be trying to achieve with the Xperia Z5 Compact Premium is questionable.
That being said according to the rumors, this is what we can expect from the device. The Xperia Z5 Compact Premium is said to sport a 4.6-inch display but will have it resolution upgraded from HD to Full HD. It will still be powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor and will come with 4GB of RAM, a 23MP rear-facing camera, and a 5.1MP front-facing camera.
There is also a rumored 2,900mAh battery which is already a step up from the Xperia Z5 Compact. It also appears to sport a Hatsune Niku branding on the back, leading to speculation that it will be exclusive to NTT DOCOMO. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but does an Xperia Z5 Compact Premium make sense to you?
