Samsung isn’t expected to launch another high-end flagship smartphone this year so it’s not surprising that the rumor mill has now turned its attention towards next year’s flagship smartphone. We are already started to hear rumors and reports about what the Galaxy S7 might bring to the table, according to a new report published today Samsung is going to continue with the strategy it set this year and launch two Galaxy S7 models in 2016.
This year Samsung unveiled both the Galaxy S6 and the dual-edge curved display touting Galaxy S6 Edge at the same time and both were released across all major markets. The Galaxy S6 Edge wasn’t a limited production run device like Galaxy Note Edge and if the report is to be believed then Samsung is going down the same road for Galaxy S7.
SM-G930 and SM-G935 are said to be the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6 Edge model numbers, apparently major carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint are already onboard to carry both device when they arrive in the coming year.
Nothing has been officially confirmed about the Galaxy S7 at this point but previous reports suggest that there might be two variants: one with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and the other with Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 processor. There’s hope that this time around Samsung might include a microSD card slot as well which many of its fans have sorely missed in this year’s flagships.
