This is why the idea of Samsung using the Snapdragon 820 for the Galaxy S7 is such an appealing idea. In fact according to recent reports, it seems that Samsung has been very interested in the Snapdragon 820. So much so that the reports claim that Samsung was the first in line to test the new chipsets.
It’s interesting to see how eager Samsung is, especially since the South Korean tech giant already has their own line of chipsets, which have proven to be just as capable as well. Perhaps it would be cheaper for Samsung to use Qualcomm, who knows? However we have heard that Samsung has been running intensive tests on the chipset to find out if it will be able to live up to Qualcomm’s claims.
We have also heard rumors that the rumored HTC O2 will also use the Snapdragon 820, although we haven’t heard if HTC has been conducting tests of their own. That being said, the first Snapdragon 820 chipsets are expected to make their way into devices in the first half of 2016, so if you’re looking forward to getting your hands on them soon, you will have to wait.
