Tomb Raider fans will certainly be looking forward to this year’s entry to the franchise called Rise of the Tomb Raider, though they might not be too excited about the fact that the new title doesn’t feature a multiplayer mode. This has been revealed through the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, those who were waiting to get more information about a possible multiplayer mode in Rise of the Tomb Raider now know for sure that this isn’t going to happen.
It’s odd to be honest because the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider did feature a multiplayer mode that put teams of players against each other in arena maps. The maps had lots of gadgets and traps that were heavily inspired by the game’s main story.
Official Xbox Magazine confirmed that unlike the previous title Rise of the Tomb Raider doesn’t feature a multiplayer mode. Apparently the decision to cut this part of the game was made to ensure that additional time could be spent on perfecting the single-player experience which is much bigger area of focus for the developers.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is due to release later this year in the fall for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Multiplayer fans will now certainly hope that the single-player experience is worth it.
