Recently an unreleased LG smartphone was spotted passing through TENAA, which is the Chinese equivalent of the FCC, from the looks of it the device appeared to be just like any other smartphone but then a rather unique aspect was also spotted. The device, known as LG V10, appears to have a secondary ticker display above the primary display with the front facing camera embedded it. Previously we had seen blurry renders of this handset but today a very official-looking render of the LG V10 has been leaked online.
The render has been leaked by a source that has a very good track record of leaking unreleased devices, @evleaks, so there’s ample reason now to believe that this handset just might be announced soon.
It just shows one use for the ticker display, to launch most used apps quickly, it’s quite likely that the secondary display also offers other features because it wouldn’t make much sensor to have a secondary display just for the purpose of launching applications. Perhaps message previews from texts and emails can be displayed, notifications would also feel right at home on the ticker.
Information about the specifications of LG V10 is scarce, it’s believed to come with a Snapdragon 808 processor, 16 megapixel rear camera, fingerprint sensor and a 5.7 inch Quad HD primary display. LG has an event scheduled for October 1st so there’s a possibility that this handset might be unveiled at the upcoming event.
