This wearable device emerged on the scene around the same time that Google Glass was making waves, Google’s attempt never really took off but Recon has been selling its smartglasses for quite some time now. However the company now sees it fit to reduce the price of its Recon Jet smartglasses to $499 in the United States, previously it was selling the smartglasses for $599. Perhaps a $100 cut might entice people to put money down for this wearable device.
It’s not that similar to the Google Glass, it’s more focused towards active users who are into sports, so it has all sorts of features that aids people during such activities.
The reason that Recon provides for this price cut is not because it’s having trouble selling this wearable device, rather the company says that it’s able to adjust the price now because it’s owned by Intel, and the parent company’s significantly deeper pockets mean that its technology can reach a wider audience now.
Those who have already purchased the Recon Jet don’t have to feel bad about this price cut, the company says it will offer price adjustment refunds to everyone who purchased or pre-purchased the Jet at its old price before today’s announcement.
Price of the Recon Jet has been reduced in other markets as well, the new prices are now reflected on the company’s website from where the Jet can instantly be purchased.
