The latest flagship from OnePlus has already been out for quite some time now, company co-founder Carl Pei did confirm recently that another OnePlus smartphone is coming this year before Christmas but didn’t offer many details about the second smartphone. It’s not presumed that it will be a “mini” variant of the OnePlus flagship, a company executive has revealed that the next OnePlus smartphone will be a mid-range device.
Speaking to the Economic Times OnePlus India GM Vikas Agarwal said that the second OnePlus smartphone for 2015 is going to be released by the end of this year, adding that it’s going to be a fashion and lifestyle product with mid-range specs.
This is inline with Pei’s recent comments that the upcoming OnePlus smartphone will focus on an audience that can appreciate “design over specs.”
Agarwal said that the new smartphone will be released globally and that it will also be focused towards consumers particularly in India which is a very lucrative market that many Chinese OEMs are trying to tap.
OnePlus has already covered solid ground in the Indian smartphone market, last year it contributed for 7 percent of all sales, and in the first quarter of this year 40 percent of OnePlus’s sales originated from India.
The executive didn’t reveal any details about the new device or its specifications so we’ll have to sit tight for that bit of information.
