The decision to skip a new Need for Speed title last year has now got fans anxiously waiting to see what EA and Ghost games have to show for that gap year. From what we’ve seen so far the new Need for Speed is going to be a visual treat and it might very well live up to fans’ expectations, but that remains to be seen. What we do know for sure now is that the title itself is going to be twice as big as Need for Speed Rivals.
By big Developer Ghost Games is referring to the fact that the number of drivable roads in Need for Speed is going to be double that of Rivals, the last NFS title which was released back in 2013.
This information has been obtained from a FAQ page about the title, the very same FAQ page that revealed that Need for Speed has a 30fps frame-rate cap on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
It’s also mentioned that all of the cars included in the game will be unlocked from day one, but players will need to accumulate enough cash to purchase them. This time around they won’t need to take part in extra events to unlock cars, all cars will be unlocked from the start.
There’s bad news for those who have been wishing for a split-screen view, it’s not going to happen primarily because the studio wants to “maximise the visual fidelity” of this game.
