A smartwatch that many have been anxiously waiting for has finally been officially unveiled today, Motorola has announced the new Moto 360 smartwatch. As expected the wearable device comes in two different sizes so potential customers will be spoilt for choice with the 42mm and 46mm models coupled with customization options. The new smartwatch can easily be customized with different bands as the lugs have been moved to the outside, plus with various bezel finishes and slim 16mm wrist straps the new Moto 360 suits the ladies just as well.
The 42mm Moto 360 features a 1.37 inch 360×325 pixel resolution display while the larger 46mm model has a 1.56 inch 360×330 pixel resolution display, the infamous “flat tire” at the bottom of the round display is still present.
Under the hood the new Moto 360 features a 1.2GHz quadcore Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB of onboard storage, the 300mAh battery is expected to last up to two days.
There’s the Moto 360 Sport for fitness enthusiasts, it features a built-in GPS for accurate speed, distance and pace tracking as well as a heart rate sensor. It features special strong silicone construction to ensure that the smartwatch lives through tough activity sessions.
Like before the smartwatch is powered by Android Wear and since this is a new model it will also be compatible with Android Wear on iOS.
Motorola unveiled the new Moto 360 at IFA 2015 today, prices for the smartwatch start at $299 and pre-orders go live today on Motorola’s website, Best Buy and Google Play Store, the company is going to start shipping orders later this month.
