If you think that video streaming is the next big thing, you might be interested to learn that Netflix has announced that come early 2016, they will be making a big push into Asian markets where the service will be available in countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
According to Netflix’s CEO Reed Hastings, “The combination of increasing Internet speeds and ubiquity of connected devices provides consumers with the anytime, anywhere ability to enjoy their favorite TV shows and movies on the Netflix service. These four markets well represent those trends.”
This follows Netflix’s announcement back in August where they promised to bring the service over to Japan. This will no doubt compete against the likes of Amazon who is also making a push into Asian markets such as Japan as well. Let’s not forget Apple’s upcoming Apple TV which could also be a potential competitor.
