It looks like those who have been waiting a long time for the Moto X Pure Edition from Motorola will be pleased as punch to hear that it is ready and waiting for pre-orders to be placed in the US – from tomorrow onward, that is. Just as speculated earlier on as well, the price will start off at $399 a poop, and the only way in which you will be able to eventually lay your hands on one of these would be to make use of Motorola’s Moto Maker service. In other words, every single Moto X Pure Edition sold will be an unlocked model, and one will be unable to pick up this device at any of the carriers.
As for those who reside outside of the US, it would be interesting to take note that this smartphone will be known as the Moto X Style – which means only folks living Stateside will pick this up as the Moto X Pure Edition for an unknown reason. Ah well, you know what they say – a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.
As for the kind of hardware which it packs underneath the hood, the Moto X Pure Edition will be powered by a 5.7” QHD touchscreen display, a 21MP rear camera with dual-tone dual-LED flash, a 5MP front camera, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 SoC with hexa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of expandable memory, and a 3,000 mAh battery with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in tow.
