It goes without saying that there’s a substantial amount of money in selling Star Wars merchandise, Disney knows that all too well and it has been selling merchandise based on the iconic franchise for quite some time now. Tomorrow through it’s going to start selling something that’s certainly going to appeal to a lot of Star Wars fans: a drone that looks like the Millennium Falcon. I can already see myself flying this drone around the house with the Star Wars theme blaring in the background.
An unboxing marathon is actually streaming today to show off all of the new Force Awakens merchandise that’s going to go on sale starting tomorrow, September 4th, which happens to be Force Friday.
There are a lot of different products but two are particularly worthy of your attention: the remote controlled Millennium Falcon and X-Wing star fighter. It’s not really a big drone rather the four tiny propellers built in the Falcon’s body make is much more suitable for indoor use, that and its “high density foam” body which protects the drone against bumps and bruises.
The remote controlled Millennium Falcon and X-Wing fighter have both been developed by Air Hogs, a company that has considerable experience in making RC vehicles. Disney is going to provide information about retailers and pricing tomorrow.
