Microsoft is seriously improving its retail store game this month as it opens the doors of its flagship brick-and-mortar store located in New York City, the location is merely a few blocks away from Apple’s iconic Fifth Avenue store. The flagship store launch in New York City will be followed by the company’s first ever international flagship retail location in Sydney, Australia.
The new Microsoft retail store replaces an old Fendi store at 677 Fifth Avenue, yes the company has nabbed the infamous Fifth Street address for its store, and it will be Microsoft’s first proper retail store in the Manhattan area.
Microsoft says that the store has been in the making for six years, it focused on providing “exceptional choice, value and service” and promises that the store will deliver on these commitments.
The 22,269 square foot store is spread over five floors and is going to be the perfect destination to “learn about, experience and shop for the products and services from Microsoft and our partners.” Also included in the store are video walls, a community theater and an Answer Desk, which is basically Microsoft’s take on the Genius Bar found in Apple’s retail stores.
Microsoft’s first international flagship retail location opens up at the Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street Mall come Thursday, November 12th.
