Microsoft Store Lists Smartphones That Are Windows 10 Ready

An official release date for Windows 10 Mobile has yet to be determined. However we’re sure there are plenty of users out there who have existing Windows Phone 8 devices that they still plan on keeping, but the question is will your device be eligible for an upgrade to Windows 10? Thankfully we have our answer, sort of.

Recently it has been spotted that on the Microsoft US and UK websites, the Redmond company has listed handsets that they claim are Windows 10 ready. There are some phones that are listed on the UK website that aren’t available on the US website, but chances are this is due to availability in different regions.

The handsets listed includes the Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 635, Lumia 830, Lumia 535, and the Lumia 435. This is a rather small list of Windows Phone 8 devices that are Windows 10 ready. We’re not sure if this list is a confirmation that only these handsets will receive the update, or if these are the first few handsets that will receive it upon its release.

However given the backlash Microsoft faced when they skipped over several devices for the Windows Phone 7.5 update, it would seem that it would be in their best interest to cover as much ground as possible for Windows 10 Mobile, but either way we would have to wait and see how this one plays out.
