This particular deal happens to be just one of the seven new agreements which were publicized this week, where Microsoft continues to look for new ways to enter the world’s second largest economy. Of course, there is also the fact that China President Xi Jinping prepares to undertake a tour of Microsoft’s campus in Redmond, Washington, alongside company CEO Satya Nadella.
This deal with Baidu will hopefully assist Microsoft in capturing additional users when it comes to its recently introduced Windows 10 operating system. Baidu role in the search placement will be reciprocated by making life easier should customers want to to update to Windows 10, and those search for Windows 10 on the China search engine will see a large banner advertisement on the top of their screens – redirecting them to a dedicated download site just for Windows 10. How’s that for a bespoke service of sorts?
