According to the firm, “Currently able to accommodate eight trains at any one time and reach a top speed of 20 miles per hour, the line is one of the most congested in London, often subject to delays and frequently unpleasant for overheated commuters.” Their idea is to replace these trains with a trio of travelators.
These travelators will move at varying speeds depending on the commuter’s preference. It will start at a slow 3mph and will be able to hit top speeds of 15mph, so if you’re in a rush, you can opt for the speedier mode of transport, or if you don’t mind a slow tour of the city, then the 3mph option would be perfect.
The firm has also envisioned how there could be various stalls and advertisements placed along the travelators. This lets brands and companies advertise to commuters, as well as allow commuters to stop anytime they want to grab a drink or snack along the way. It’s a pretty cool idea although whether or not it will actually be implemented is another story.
