In case you haven’t been following the news, just a day or two ago, Apple made the headlines when it was discovered that their iOS apps had been infected by a malware. Not every app was affected, but it seems that a good many reputable apps had been infected and even made their way into the iTunes App Store.
Now Apple has since removed said apps but for those who might have downloaded them during this period, or maybe even updated them, you might want to take note of it. However thankfully the folks at Palo Alto Networks (via 9to5Mac) have since published a list of apps that have been infected by the XcodeGhost malware.
It has been suggested that the safest course of action is to delete the apps listed from your phone and reinstall them when they become available again, lest you might be the target of the hackers. Apple claims to have removed the apps and are working with developers on getting them back in.
These aren’t just obscure apps either. According to the list, some big name apps like WeChat and Angry Birds 2 have been affected as well, although for the most part the apps seem to largely target the Chinese market, so there is a good chance you might not have those apps, but if you do you should consider deleting them for now.
