Laptops are designed for mobility, which is why creating them thin and light will make it more appealing for those who have to be lugging it around with them all day. If you’re after new thin and light laptops, you’re in luck as Lenovo has officially announced their new ideapad 300 and 500 series of laptops.
These laptops will come in 14-inch and 15-inch options and will weigh in at around 4.06lbs and 5.01lbs respectively, so safe to say you should not have any issue bringing them with you on the go. They will come with NVIDIA GeForce 920 graphics so if you want to game or do some video editing, it should not be an issue. They will also sport Dolby Advanced Audio and 1TB of storage.
For those who don’t mind spending a bit more, the ideapad 500 will feature the latest 6th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, optional JBL speakers, and Intel’s RealSense camera. It will be priced starting at $399 for the ideapad 300, and $499 for the ideapad 500.
Now just in case those laptops weren’t thin or light enough, Lenovo has also announced lighter and thinner models in the form of the ideaPad 100S, 300S, and the 500S, and Chromebook 100S for those who are fans of Google’s Chrome OS. In terms of weight, these laptops will weigh in at around 2.9lbs and 3.4lbs respectively.
The Chromebook 100S on the other hand will weigh even less at 2.6lbs and will sport an 11.6-inch display. Under the hood, an Intel Bay Trail-M will be powering the laptop and it will be priced starting at $179. The 100S will be priced starting at $189, the 300S at $249, and the 500S starting at $499. All of Lenovo’s laptops mentioned in this post are expected to be made available starting in October.
