I have been a long time fan of the King of Fighters franchise, I grew up playing this game so you can imagine how excited I got when I found out that it has been confirmed that King of Fighter 14 will be coming to PlayStation 4. It’s the latest addition to the cult franchise and it was announced for PlayStation 4 at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference. A brief reveal trailer was also shown at the press conference.
The trailer revealed that SNK Playmore, the developer of this title, has decided to create this new game in 3D which is a choice that this studio has attempted before at one point.
“This brand new KOF numbered series title features high-quality 3D visuals, however staying true to the gameplay roots of the series,” says SNK Playmore.
King of Fighters 14 is going to be released across Japan in January next year, no additional details about the title were revealed during the press conference.
It’s unclear at this point in time when King of Fighters 14 is going to be released for PlayStation 4, a release timeframe was not provided, but at least fans can rest assured knowing that sooner or later the title will be released. In the meantime we can make do with the in-game screenshots.
