Selfie sticks have definitely taken off in a big way in recent years, and there does not seem as though there will a shortage of images or videos captured by selfie sticks anytime soon. In fact, it would not be too far off the mark to think that such videos and snapshots will grow in number. The thing about selfie sticks is, some people do not see the danger of using them under certain situations, such as when you are on a theme park ride – and definitely when you are driving. Some dude decided to do otherwise when driving his Jeep and using a selfie stick to film himself, and as you can see in the video above, it ends up with a disastrous sequence.
YouTuber Alex Lopatnyuk mentioned in the description, “Gator hunting Jeep Wrangler first time GoPro selfie.” Chances are, it will also be his last, as common sense (as well as a bruised ego in addition to money spent for whatever repairs that need to be made – not to mention payment to patch up the boat in which he knocked into).
One thing is for sure, if it is already so dangerous to use a smartphone while you are driving, what more when you need to use a selfie stick, which would require you to do more than what your brain and hands are able to handle at a single go?
