Apple has recently released iTunes 12.3. The update to iTunes follows the release of iOS 9 and with the update, Apple has introduce two-factor authentication to help better secure your Apple ID when using iTunes on your computer. For those unfamiliar with two-factor authentication, this is a feature that will prevent hackers from accessing your account even if they knew your username and password.
How it works is that a one-time generated code will be required even upon successfully entering your username and password. Typically the code will be sent to a mobile device or generated by a key fob associated with the account, The code is usable only once and it is used to help secure your logins.
Apart from introducing two-factor authentication, the updated iTunes will also bring about some bug fixes related to Apple Music. The updated iTunes is available for download via Apple’s website, so head on over if you haven’t already.
