iPhone 6s Plus Battery 5% Smaller Than Its Predecessor

According to Apple’s official specs, both the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will offer the same amount of talk time and surfing time as its predecessors. However a video from a couple of weeks ago seemingly confirmed that the iPhone 6s would feature a smaller battery than the iPhone 6, but what about the iPhone 6s Plus?

It turns out that the iPhone 6s Plus will also feature a smaller battery compared to the iPhone 6 Plus. This is according to a report out of China (via 9to5Mac) in which the alleged iPhone 6s Plus battery has been revealed to be 2,750mAh. This is versus the 2,915mAh battery found in its predecessor, making it about 5% smaller.

We’re not sure why Apple has chosen to pack a smaller battery into its phone, but if the company promising the same battery life as last-gen iPhones, it probably has to do with the new A9 chipset being more efficient than before, along with the new battery-saving features of iOS 9 that is supposed to extend battery life by as much as 1 hour with Low Power Mode enabled.

In any case we doubt the difference in 5% battery will have a huge impact on your usage, but it’s something to keep in mind if battery life is your number one priority when choosing a new smartphone.
