Thanks to a battery test conducted by the folks at PhoneArena, they have discovered that the iPhone 6s battery is actually very efficient and managed to clock a usage time of 8 hours 15 minutes. This is versus its predecessor which came in at 5 hours 22 minutes – that’s almost a 3 hour difference!
In fact the iPhone 6s placed third in their tests, beaten out only by the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active which clocked a very impressive 12 hours and 9 minutes, and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact which managed a little over 10 hours. Considering the marginal difference in battery size between the iPhones, we can only assume that the difference can only be attributed to the A9 SoC which might be more efficient than its predecessor.
However this is just speculation but either way this test does show that the iPhone 6s, despite packing a smaller battery than the last-gen iPhone, should last you quite a while. We should note that this is not the end-all of battery tests, but it should give you an idea of what to expect.
