At the Worldwide Developers Conference this year Apple unveiled iOS 9, since then the new firmware has been in beta stage where developers have been tinkering with new betas every other week. This has been happening for a couple of months now and given that the software is ready for public consumption, iOS 9 is finally available for download.
Apple has started rolling out iOS 9 for all compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch units across the globe, it may take a while for the roll out to be completed.
Those who are trying to download right now might experience slow speeds, that’s most likely due to the intense load that servers will come under when millions of people across the globe are trying to get on the latest software update for their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Apple has received a lot of criticism in the past for making software updates too bulky, users had to download content from their devices in order to make enough space for the update to download, this latest release is all about efficiency and it’s mirrored in the fact that iOS 9 only requires 1.3GB of free space on the device.
iOS 9 brings many improvements and tweaks for iOS devices, there’s a new app switcher for improved multitasking while iPads gets split-screen multitasking, and a plethora of other improvements have been made to make the overall experience much better for users across the globe.
