The Here for Android beta program is chugging along quite nicely and a new update has been released for the mapping application which now allows you to share your route, it’s a feature that many users have been asking for so it’s good to see that the Here team has listened and followed through. All users can share their routes whether they’re going by car, public transit or even if they’re just walking.
This feature really is the missing piece of the puzzle, it has been possible to share your position and estimated time of arrival using Glympse, but this new features lets you share the full route that you’ll be taking to a particular destination.
Many advantages come to mind: this makes it much easier to give someone directions to a place you’re familiar with but they’re not, besides that one can also share a record of a trip they take on social networks.
Once a route has been planned in Here maps just scroll up to view the route details, at the bottom of the screen you’ll find a Share button. Tapping on it allows you to choose the method through which you want to share the route, then simply select the people you want to share it with and be on your way.
Existing members of the Here for Android beta can update the app through the Google Play Store, those would like to take part in this program can go here to sign up.
