The rumors are claiming that this year will be a special year for the Nexus lineup as we will be getting not just one, but two Nexus handsets. So far the names of either device have pretty much been up in the air, but for those who are curious, wonder no more because according to a report from Droid-Life, the names of both devices have been revealed.
The first Nexus phone, made by LG, will be known as the Nexus 5X, presumably playing off the fact that LG was also the company behind the Nexus 5. Up next is the alleged Huawei-made Nexus which will be known as the Nexus 6P, although we’re not sure Google/Huawei might have gone with that naming scheme.
However it is possible given that Huawei has used the “P” name in its naming schemes in the past, the P in the Nexus 6P would help identify it as a Huawei-made device. The Nexus 5X name has actually been floating about for a while now, so this report from Droid-Life more or less “confirms” it.
The rumors also claim that we can look forward to an official announcement on the 29th of September, so if you’re thinking of switching to a new Nexus phone, do check back with us towards the end of the month for the details.
