Krafcik brings with him 14 years worth of experience with Ford, where he was then the chief engineer for both the Expedition and Navigator SUVs. Krafcik also clocked up 10 years with Hyundai, before he ended up as president at the car sales website TrueCar. Certainly all of those ribands and accolades that accompany Krafcik will help Google to achieve their dream of expanding the self-driving car industry, bringing it to a totally new level, right?
It would be interesting to see how this particular industry develops, and whether the self-driving cars will be made affordable to the masses or not. Will there be taxation issues that need to be grappled with as well? All of these will be answered in due time, I believe.
