So from what we know about the Samsung Galaxy S7 is that it will be announced in 2016 and it could come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. It is also rumored to come with a dual-camera setup. So when will the phone be announced? Could we be looking at a possible CES or MWC announcement, or will Samsung be hosting their own event?
According to the folks at SamMobile, it seems that we’re only a few more months away from an announcement. This is based on a report out of South Korea who claims that Samsung will announce the handset in January 2016, meaning that if they are making an announcement chances are it will be at CES 2016.
This is actually pretty fast considering that it wasn’t too long ago that Samsung launched their Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+. The report goes on to add that a release in February will follow the announcement. If the rumors are to be believed, Samsung is expected to stick to releasing two variants, one with a regular display and one with a curved display.
Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but with reports that the Galaxy S6 did not sell as well as it could have, hopefully Samsung will be able to do better with the Galaxy S7.
