Fitbit has recently released an update for the Surge fitness tracker. With this update, your Surge’s battery life is said to double. Right now it has been estimated that the Surge will get about 5 hours of battery life with an active GPS signal and with its heart-rate sensor enabled, however post-update, battery life is estimated to be about 10 hours which is very impressive.
This makes it comparable other fitness trackers with similarly long battery life. Along with the boost to the battery, the update will also introduce a new feature called Run Cues. This basically alerts you whenever you have been running for a particular amount of time or a set distance, so if you’d rather focus on the run instead of checking your watch or distance all the time, this might come in handy.
The update will also bring about a timer and a stopwatch to the device. The update has been scheduled to roll out on Wednesday meaning that it should already be available for download.
