A few days ago, we did hear gist of Facebook working on a new Dislike button, which must have been at the top of the wish list for many a Facebook user for the longest time now. After all, it makes plenty of sense, doesn’t it? If you can “Like” something, certainly to be able to “Dislike” it is not too far fetched? Well, apparently, the buzz over the Dislike button might be due to an interpretation of Facebook CEO Zuckerberg’s explanation, “We didn’t want to just build a Dislike button because we don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on people’s posts. That doesn’t seem like the kind of community we want to create.” Could it be an emoji instead?
Perhaps an emoji would be able to better create the kind of community that Facebook wants. These emojis will deal with core emotions, rather than having all sorts of fancy emojis running around that we tend to see on instant messaging apps these days. What do you think will Facebook’s move be in the future, will there really be a “Dislike” button, or will it be something else altogether? Only time will tell, so do play the patience card.
