Apple has started taking pre-orders for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, from the looks of it the new handset appears to be on course to break all previous pre-order records. The new iPhone will be shipped out to customers in the very near future which is why it’s the perfect time for developers to get their apps out with support for new functionality. Dropbox today released an updated app for iOS which comes with support for 3D Touch.
3D Touch technology is completely new to the iPhone and it brings a whole other way to interact with the device, basically the display is able to measure how much force you’re putting into a tap in order to respond accordingly.
The first place that users will be able to experience 3D Touch with Dropbox is going to be the iPhone’s home screen. Pressing down on the app icon is going to bring up a list of quick actions from where users will be able to view their most recent file, jump to offline files, search their Dropbox and even upload a photo.
Within the app itself 3D Touch can be used to Peek into a file or folder, lightly pressing on a file name will bring up a preview and on a folder will bring up its contents. Popping from the preview into the full file or folder is easy, just press a little deeper.
The updated Dropbox for iOS is available for download right now through the App Store.
