According to a post on the DotA 2 blog, Valve has revealed that in the coming weeks, they expect that they will roll out the DotA 2: Reborn patch. Basically for those who are unfamiliar with Reborn, it makes the leap from the Source 1 engine used in the original DotA 2, which you might be playing now, to the Source 2 engine which admittedly makes the game look a lot better.
However Valve notes that there might still be some bugs but this is something they’re anticipating and will be working quickly to iron out. “There are still a few features that will need some work when the update is released, but we plan to finish them quickly. Expect the weeks that follow to focus on ironing out issues, refining the dashboard and iterating based on your feedback.”
Following that, Valve will move on to working on the in-game UI where they plan on redesigning the HUD and working on other in-game features. Overall this is a huge update and if you’d rather get ahead of everyone else, you can actually go ahead and download the Reborn update now to save yourself time in the future. Load up the DotA client and head on over to the “Play Tab” to get started.
