The folks at Photography Bay managed to take a look at Canon’s next-gen Connect Station. For those unfamiliar, Canon has a device called the Connect Station CS100. This device allows for wireless transfer of files like photos and videos through built-in WiFi and NFC, making it ideal if you’re traveling and don’t have a computer with you.
However the difference in this particular model is that it will also wirelessly charge your camera. When you place the camera on the device, photos and videos from your camera will begin transferring automatically, and once that is done, it will then begin to charge your camera, as you can see in the image above.
Apart from wirelessly charging your camera, the new Connect Station will come with 1TB of storage, HDMI output, and will also support 4K playback and can be controlled via a smartphone app. Unfortunately Canon did not mention if and when the new Connect Station will go on sale, and for how much.
