There are many who are safe to say pretty excited for the upcoming BlackBerry Venice. Why? Simply because this could be the company’s first Android device ever, which we’re sure many want to see how it will fare and if going the Android route would be able to revive the company’s hardware business.
Now recently we were treated to a leaked photo and now thanks to another photo from BerryFlow (via BlackBerry OS), it would seem that the device has been spotted out and about at the Toronto Film Festival. As you can see in the photo above, the device pictured in the person’s hand looks remarkably similar to all the leaked photos we have been seeing to date.
As noted by BlackBerry OS, the app that is being used by the person on their smartphone is the BBM app. It is also the Android Messenger app, thus lending further credence to the possibility that the BlackBerry Venice will indeed be an Android-powered device. However as we have noted in the past, there have been reports that despite it running on Android, there could be some BB10-like features incorporated into the system.
As it stands there is no official date on when the phone will be announced, but it has been speculated that November could be a potential launch date, but either way check back with us during the coming weeks/months for the details.
