According to a report from the New York Post, they claim that their sources have tipped them off to the fact that within these 3 months, Apple Music has managed to nab an impressive 15 million subscribers. Last we heard, those numbers were sitting around the 11 million mark and this was early last month, so to jump by an additional 4 million within a month is pretty impressive.
Now the more important question here is will those 15 million subscribers continue subscribing once the trial has ended? We suppose that’s anyone’s guess, but the New York Post’s source has said that about half of the current subscribers has not disabled auto-pay, suggesting that these users will continue paying for the service.
Either that or they have completely forgotten about it. Last we heard Apple was aiming for as many as 100 million Apple Music subscribers, whether or not they will hit that number remains to be seen. However if at least 7.5 million subscribers continue to pay for the service, Apple is only two-thirds away from catching up to Spotify’s 20 million paid subscribers.
