Amazon announced today that Prime Now, it’s one-hour delivery service, has been expanded to Los Angeles and Orange County, including areas such as Silver Lake, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica and more. The company has set up four Prime Now hubs in southern California in order to provide super-fast delivery for tens of thousands of items.
Over the next few days Prime Now will also start delivering products from some popular LA local stores including but not limited to Bristol Farms, Sprouts Farmers Market, 99 Ranch Market and others.
“Customers love the convenience of getting items delivered right to their doors in under an hour,” said Stephenie Landry, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service. “The logistical expertise that we’ve developed since day one fuels Prime Now and we’re excited to expand one and two-hour delivery to Los Angeles and surrounding areas.”
The one-hour delivery service can be used through the separate Prime Now app that’s available for iOS and Android. In Los Angeles the one-hour delivery service will be available from 8am to midnight throughout the entire week.
Customers can get two-hour delivery for free but those who want their order delivered within one hour will have to pay a $7.99 fee. With LA joining the list Amazon Prime Now is now operational in a total of 13 cities across the country.
