When it comes to hybrid devices, you can be sure that certain manufacturers have already dived into this particular department, with Dell having rolled out their Dell XPS 12 some time back, with it being a convertible notebook that sports a 12.5” display, being able to rotate a full 180 degrees so that it ends up as a tablet device. Pretty nifty, don’t you think so? The thing about these 2-in-1 hybrids would be this – the form factor might be convenient, but the weight of the device remains the same, which can be quite a burden in the long run. Word on the street has it that Dell might be rolling out a new 12” tablet with the XPS 12 moniker.
Apparently, this rumored device will feature a detachable keyboard dock as well, where there should also be an accompanying 4K display, not to mention support for digital pen input. Hmmm, it looks like we are about to enter into iPad Pro territory here, right? Other hardware specifications which have been rumored to make the cut for the Dell XPS 12 tablet include a Thunderbolt 3 port, a USB Type-C connector, an 8MP camera at the back, a 5MP front-facing camera, a detachable keyboard dock with backlit keys and a touchpad. It will hopefully ship with Windows 10 on board.
