The folks at Bungie have recently released the latest update for Destiny. Unfortunately the size of the update weighs in at 20GB. Owners of current-gen consoles with 500GB hard drives should have no issues with it, but unfortunately there are gamers with last-gen consoles like the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 that can’t install it.
This is due to some last-gen models sporting only 20GB of storage. Thankfully it looks like Activision has a solution for these gamers. According to a report from GameSpot, it seems that what Activision has done is send some of these players a 32GB USB flash drive. While the update can’t be installed on the flash drive, the drive will allow users to move some files onto it while they install the update.
However it should be noted that this won’t be applied to everyone. Gamers who are running such consoles are required to register with Activision. In fact this registration is still open and will close on the 15th of September. All you’d need to do is confirm that you are in fact an existing and active Destiny player with an unsupported last-gen console.
By unsupported, basically this means you need to own the 20GB console we were talking about previously. Now GameSpot’s report only covers a single account from one of their readers, so we’re not sure if this is Activision’s standard solution for this particular issue, but if it is, it is a pretty good one!
